We are thrilled that Director Julia Buchanan has been shortlisted out of 1500 entrants to the Enterprise Vision Awards in the Family Business Category!
Julia has demonstrated determination, strength, leadership, entrepreneurship and hard work since she joined husband Nick in the early noughties. Together they travelled up and down the country in their boiler suits, the two of them fitting aluminium linings to pickup vehicles each weekend alongside raising four sons.
Fast forward to 2023, the husband and wife duo have expanded to a team of 20 people and have 15,000sq ft of workspace. While Nick has designed, drawn and built a huge portfolio of products, Julia has managed the office, taking care of accounts, payroll, HR, sales and customer service as well as attending networking events, securing funding and promoting the business. For many years, Julia singlehandedly ran the office until 8 years ago when she took on an office administrator, and more recently, a business admin apprentice.
As their sons have grown into adults, all four of them are linked to the business. Two sons are managers, another has trained all the apprentice welder fabricators and the fourth provides IT integration and support. The Buchanans are a superb example of a successful family business. Each family member and every employee within the business is behind Julia, wishing her all the best for a much deserved award.
